Lights From The Ocean - LP

"Lights From The Ocean" revolves around an inner darkness – fear, anger and quiet, destructive thoughts – and how we still move through the world with a bright surface, adapting and functioning. Like the ocean itself: deep, dark currents beneath the surface, while light continues to reflect in the waves.
On the album, Eberson is joined by some of Norway’s most acclaimed musicians, including Lars Haavard Haugen (Hellbillies), Paal Flaata, Erland Dahlen, Jon Eberson and co-producer Lars Voldsdal. Together they have created a sound that is both understated and expansive, organic and intimate – a sonic landscape that allows space for vulnerability, resistance and quiet strength.
The lyrics and music explore how we can carry dark thoughts, anxiety and an almost wordless anger, while at the same time living ordinary lives. We exist in a world marked by war, hunger, climate anxiety and leaders pulling us backwards in time – yet we still find room for small moments of light: a message from a friend, a TV series that makes us laugh, a sense of progress. We are not consistent beings; we adapt, often faster than we fully understand what we are actually living through.
Lights From The Ocean is an album that does not seek resolution or clear answers, but instead dares to remain in the tension between darkness and light. A musical space for reflection and recognition – and for a light that slowly breaks through.
