Siri Stranger – Future Memories (2025)

The dream of a jazz project finally becomes reality. Ever since she began working professionally with music more than 20 years ago, Siri Stranger has dreamed of making this album. But a sense of reverence held her back. Over the past year, however, she has felt a renewed drive and desire to embark on the project — something we are very grateful for when hearing the outstanding debut single “Here’s To You.”

Siri has written and produced all of the music herself. The musicians featured on the single are Frode Østang Mangen (piano), Jo Fougner Skaansar (double bass), and Ivar Thormodsæter (drums).

“The songs are small stories from life itself — from longing and loss to falling in love and finding contentment, from childhood to old age and death. I wanted to write songs that could sound as though they came from The Great American Songbook. The standards have already been sung and interpreted so many times that I preferred to create original music instead. You can hear influences as varied as Shirley Horn, Jan Johansson, and Prince.”
